The Golf Course

One Word: Legendary

One Word: Legendary

Our walking-friendly golf course features an exceptional array of manicured fairways with undulating greens of TifEagle. The greens are a mixture of TifEagle Bermuda, which provides smooth and firm putting surfaces that roll to an average stimpmeter speed of 11. The course has a yardage of 6,708 with a 72.7 rating and 130 slope.

Our driving range includes target greens for practicing your skills. In addition, private lessons and clinics are available from our professional golf staff. On its way to becoming a top-100 golf shop, our expert merchandisers offer the latest fashions, best shoes, latest game improving equipment and unique accessories that every golfer wants and needs.

The Architect

The Architect

In 1924, Donald Ross embarked on designing a course to challenge golfers of all ages and abilities. Ross was a genius at creating strategic challenges while retaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the land. He understood the inseparable relationship between design and construction. His legacy is the foundation of golf’s Golden Age and his timeless designs continue to inspire players and architects alike to this day.

Ross was of common stock, making an adequate if unspectacular living. But all that changed when an American professor on a golf pilgrimage to the sport’s holy land invited him to come to the New World after an apprenticeship at St. Andrews to help spread the game’s gospel. Ross arrived in 1899 to build and run the Oakley Golf Club in the Boston area. The next year, he landed an assignment with the Tufts family on a property in North Carolina’s sandhills called Pinehurst.

The Rebirth

The Rebirth

In 2018, Tony Jacklin was hired to renovate the course and bring it up to current Major Championship standards. Earlier in his carrer, Jacklin burst onto the global golfing stage becoming the first British player to win The Open Championship in 18 years, winning by two strokes at Royal Lytham & St Annes. The following season he won his second major title, the U.S. Open by seven strokes on a windblown Hazeltine National Golf Club course.

Jacklin won eight events on the European Tour between its first season in 1972 and 1982. He also won tournaments in Europe prior to the European Tour era, and in the United States, South America, South Africa and Australia.

Men's & Women's Associations

Men's & Women's Associations

The Men's Association’s mission is to offer a competitive outlet for men with games that provide fun and enjoyment while creating an enjoyable club experience and social atmosphere. Club members gather together for single day and season long competitions. All male golf members are eligible to participate. No fees required to join the association.

The Women's Association is dedicated to providing our membership interested in playing golf a friendly and welcoming environment. Tuesday is Ladies Day at BCC, and each play day is organized to provide the best and easiest experience for members of all skill levels. Each season, our WGA also hosts their own Member-Guests and other organized outings.

"A marvelous venue of golf history. The generosity of the fairways is purposely deceiving. Tee shots that easily appear to be in play may very well present a troublesome line into the greens which, by the way, are marvelous in both design and condition. I was a guest and hope some day to return."
